ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that federal and provincial governments were working in harmony for the development of the country.
The Prime Minister was chairing National Economic Council meeting, attended by attended by Prime Minister of AJ&K, Governor KPK,Chief Ministers of Punjab, Sind, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan besides the Chief Minister of Gilgit Baltistan, Federal and Provincial Ministers here Friday.
He said Pakistan’s economic indicators have significantly improved and were being acknowledged by international financial rating institutions.
PM Nawaz informed the meeting that the Annual Plan Coordination Committee has already recommended to the NEC a development programme worth Rs 2113 billion for the next financial year. The provinces will get Rs 1112 billion share while the development budget of the federal government will be Rs 1001 billion.

The Premier said development should not be politicized as it is for prosperity of every citizen of the country. He said first time in the history, the government has increased provincial share three times in Public sector Development Program.
He said during the Belt and Road Forum at China all Chief Ministers accompanied him and the world saw that Pakistan was united and unanimous for development. He termed it a very positive message.
“We are focusing on Energy projects. Not only power supply is our priority but we are providing affordable power supply for consumers,” the Prime Minister said.
The NEC meeting also gave consent to set the growth rate at 6 percent of the GDP for the next fiscal year.
