PM Nawaz rejects Imran’s bribery claim

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday chaired a high-level meeting that dismissed the PTI chief’s bribery allegation.

The meeting was attended by federal ministers, advisers and legal experts.

Sources said the participants of the meeting rejected the Imran Khan’s claim that the prime minister had offered him Rs10 billion to back off from the Panama case.

During the meeting, the law experts had suggested to take legal action against the PTI chief.

The sources said that the prime minister would take a final decision whether to take legal action against the PTI chief or not.

The meeting said that the Imran Khan’s allegation had proved wrong at all forums, including courts.

Legal experts said that the PTI chief may be disqualified under the Article 62 and 63 for lying.

The participants of the meeting were of the view that Imran Khan wanted to gain political mileage by lying.
