OpenAI teams up with Lionel Messi for global ChatGPT Campaign
Messi fronts OpenAI's new ChatGPT campaign, featuring an AI-generated Argentina-inspired look fans can now recreate
Lionel Messi has become the face of OpenAI's latest global push, fronting a new ChatGPT campaign that uses AI-generated imagery to position the tool as a go-to platform for football fans ahead of major tournaments.
The partnership got off to a start with an image created through digital technology depicting Messi with blue and white hair, reflecting the colours of the Argentine flag, generated via ChatGPT’s image generation tool.
OpenAI has now incorporated the prompt technique employed to generate the image into its image generation presets so that fans are now able to recreate the same idea with the national flag colours of their own countries.
In particular, the strategy highlights the ability of ChatGPT to help its proponents keep track of their matches, learn about the gameplay, get involved with the narrative of the tournaments, and find novel ways to demonstrate their support for their teams.
Messi noted that he has always been fascinated by the different ways people engage with football globally, and the use of artificial intelligence can provide more ways for fans to do so.
According to OpenAI, there will be more content and fan engagement initiatives to come from the collaboration through the official social media accounts of both Messi and ChatGPT in the following weeks.
