One move on the part of Meghan and Harry seems to have started taking a toll on the couple's efforts to build a life in Hollywood with new connections.

Meghan, who returned to Instagram last year, secured followers like Kris Jenner, Zoe Saldana, Oprah Winfrey, Lauren Sánchez Bezos and many other celebrities.

Kris Jenner would always be the first to press the like button every time Meghan shared a post on Instagram, helping the Duchess of Sussex get wider reach on the social media platform.

However, things went south when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were invited to Kris Jenner’s birthday where they posed for photos with Kim Kardashian and many others in attendance.

When the Kardashians shared the photos on Instagram, the royal couple thought the birthday party celebration coincided with a day honoring military veterans and they requested Jenner and her daughter to take their photos down.

Although they deleted the couple's photos, subsequent developments showed Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian were offended by Meghan and Harry's request.

Since then, while Kris has continued to follow Meghan on Instagram, she hardly notices or reacts to her posts.

The same was the case when Meghan Markle on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 shared a post containing multiple photos of her welcoming the spring season.

The post featured multiple photos of the Duchess, her daughter and husband. She also seemed to show love for Beyoncé with a photo of her daughter wearing a shirt printed with the singer's sketch with "Queen Bey" written on it.

Some observers believe most Hollywood celebrities have become cautious about engaging with Meghan Markle due to her knack for controversy since the photo debacle.
