Prince William’s role under spotlight amid Prince Harry’s comeback plans
Prince William’s growing power shapes royal response to Prince Harry ahead of Invictus Games event
Prince William is said to be the key decision-maker in how the royal family navigates ongoing tensions with Prince Harry, a new report has claimed.
Ahead of the upcoming Invictus Games milestone event in Birmingham, a royal expert claimed that it depends on the Prince of Wales that King Charles attend the event.
According to royal biographer Tom Bower, William’s influence could prove decisive in whether with the future king reportedly focused on maintaining stability.
Bower was asked, "So you don't think there's a chance that King Charles will just pop in for five minutes, say hello, smile for the cameras, shake his son's hand, and then jump back in the Rolls-Royce?"
To which he replied, "I don't. Not even. Not least because of what we've discussed, but also because I think William will forbid it."
"I think William's role in all this is pretty critical, and he wants to have a smooth transition. He wants to change the monarchy," the expert told The Express.
"Understandably. He wants to modernise it. He needs to appeal to young people and all the other things. He doesn't want to be involved in more controversy, especially to benefit Harry and Meghan."
