Trump administration labeled ‘misogynistic’ following dismissal of Pam Bondi and Kristi Noem

Donald Trump has been accused of the sudden dismissal of Pam Bondi, who briefly served as the first female US Attorney General under the current administration. He is being criticized for running a ‘misogynistic administration’ after making Bondi the second woman to be fired from a cabinet already dominated by men. 

However, reports suggest the primary reasons for her departure were the President’s discontent over her handling of Jeffrey Epstein and his continued focus on pursuing political adversaries.

This marks a major move less than a month after Trump ousted Kristi Noem, the homeland security secretary, following extreme criticism of her management of the department and immigration enforcement. Pam Bondi (Attorney General) and Kristi Noem (Homeland Security) are the only Cabinet members fired so far in Trump’s second term. Both were replaced by men leading critics to label this the last diverse Cabinet of this century.

Critics point out that while women were fired for their errors, male officials like Pete Hegseth (Defense Secretary) and Kash Patel (FBI Director) remain in power despite significant scandals-including security breaches and wrongful arrests, as reported by the Guardian. 

Furthermore, Democrats and former Republicans argue that Trump discards women far more easily than men. Political activists describe the administration as fundamentally misogynistic, viewing women as “replaceable objects.”

In the first 300 days of Trump’s second term, only 16% of Senate-confirmed individuals were women. This trend follows executive orders aimed at curbing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives across the federal government. Moreover, reports suggest Tulsi Gabbard may be the next woman removed, following presidential frustration over her congressional testimony.

In this connection, Setmayer, a former Republican communications director, commented: “Donald Trump made it very clear that he doesn't feel as though diversity is a strength of this country or for our democracy. Trump is a misogynist and this is a misogynist administration, and they’re not shy about it.” 

Despite Democratic calls for the resignation of Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick-fueled by his recently disclosed ties to Jefferey Epstein-the President has shown no sign of dismissing him, further strengthening the double-standard narrative.
