KARACHI: The bodies of the two Pakistan Army personnel, who lost their lives in a gruesome attack by unidentified gunmen in downtown Saddar area of Karachi, were sent to their respective local villages on Wednesday.
According to sources, funeral rites of the martyrs were performed at Old Race Course Ground Malir Cantt and were honoured with a gun salute by army soldiers before their bodies were taken to their native villages.
Funeral Prayers were attended by DG Rangers Bilal Akber, Corps Commander Karachi Lt Gen Naveed Mukhtar, Sindh Home Minister Sohail Anwar Sial, IG Sindh and relatives of the martyred.
Lance Naik Abdul Razzaq’s body will be buried in district Noshero Feroz, while Sepoy Khadim Hussain’s body has been shifted to Dadu for final proceedings.
The incident occurred when Army personnel Razzaq and Khadim Hussain were patrolling the area in a mobile when two terrorists riding a motorcycle opened fire on them, killing both personnel near the Saddar Parking Plaza in Karachi on Tuesday.
No further investigations have been completed yet.
