Geo News to broadcast 'He Named Me Malala' Urdu version

PAKISTAN: Geo News will broadcast the Urdu version of the film 'My Name Is Malala' on the occasion of the Nobel laureate's birthday in July.

According to details, Geo News has obtained the broadcasting rights for 'He Named Me Malala' and the film has already been dubbed in Urdu as well. 'He Named Me Malala' is a foreign media documentary film which chronicles the life and struggle of Malala Yousafzai.

Geo News will broadcast the Urdu version of this documentary on the occasion of Malala's birthday in July. Malala has earlier apologized and not granted permission for the documentary to be dubbed in other languages. However, she has specifically provided Geo News with the broadcasting rights of 'He Named Me Malala'.

Malala Yousafzai came into the limelight when she was shot in the face a couple of years ago by the Taliban for advocating for female education, in Swat. Malala survived the shooting incident and since then, went on to become an international celebrity. Apart from the Nobel peace prize that she won, she also has an asteroid named after her.

Malala had also held a meeting with the incumbent United States President Barack Obama at the White House.
