Narcotics task force formed

A task force would be set up for the eradication of narcotics. This was announced by the Sindh Minister for Excise and Taxation, Dr Abdul Karim Mahar.

The minister said that this task force would consist of the police, Rangers and the personnel of the Excise and Taxation Department and pointed out that a comprehensive operation would be conducted against the drug peddlers and their patrons to cleanse the province of the menace of narcotics.

He said that action would be initiated against such elements irrespective of their influence and added that the younger generation was our asset and they should stay away from the menace of narcotics and take care of their health.

He further stated that eradication of narcotics is among his top priorities. The minister was of the view that it is the collective responsibility of the government as well as the people to rid the society of narcotics and maintained that such an objective can only be achieved with the cooperation of the people.
