11 more militants killed in Khyber air strikes

BARA: Eleven suspected militants, including a foreigner, were killed and 10 others sustained injuries when Pakistan Air Force (PAF) jet fighters pounded their hideouts in various areas of Tirah Valley of Khyber Agency on Tuesday, military sources claimed.
The sources said the jet fighters targeted the hideouts of militants affiliated with the Lashkar-e-Islam (LI) and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in the Dars Jumaat area in Akakhel in the remote Tirah Valley.
They said six militants, including an Uzbek commander, were killed and 10 others wounded in the first air strike in Sherkhel Darra in Akakhel area. Sources said 12 hideouts of the militants were also destroyed in the bombing.The sources said the jet fighters pounded the Atlas training centre in Sarey Kandao in Zakhakhel area in which five militants were killed when the roof of the centre collapsed.
The militants have been driven out of several areas in Bara in the ongoing Operation Khyber-1 in the troubled Khyber Agency. The Shalobar, Akakhel and Malikdinkhel Afridi tribes have also expelled militants from their ranks.
