Melodious Zamad Baig clinches ‘Pakistan Idol’

KARACHI: The biggest musical reality show of Pakistan aired on Geo TV, equally famous in the country and abroad, the ‘Pakistan Idol’ came to an end as in the grand finale, Zamad Baig gave tough time to his competitor Muhammad Shoaib and clinched the title.
Zamad Baig’s name will be remembered in the history of music in Pakistan as the very first Pakistan Idol. Winner of the title, Baig not only won a car and a music contract but was also rewarded with Rs2.5 million.
The judges compared the singing style of Zamad Baig with that of the late music legend Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Baig’s remarkable performance proved that he had got the talent and guts to be called a melodious singer.
Judges of the show namely, Bushra Ansari, Hadiqa Kiani and Ali Azmat also have had a share in the success of the first Pakistan Idol. They tried to groom all the candidates through this platform. The guest-judges also contributed to the process from time to time through their critiques.
Audience of the grand finale included not only journalists but also the showbiz celebrities who gave rounds of applause to their favourite participants. Impressive performance of the judges added to the charisma of the finale that was aired live on Geo TV.
