Govt to ensure security of journalists: minister

ISLAMABAD: State Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab Ahmad, while condemning the attack on a media team in Karachi, said the government believes in the independence of media and would ensure security to journalists. Speaking to news reporters on Sunday, Sheikh Aftab said Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has constituted a committee, comprising ministers for information and interior, which will contact media houses and journalists’ bodies to devise a strategy for security of journalists. The Radio Pakistan reported that the minister strongly condemned the attack on a media team in Karachi.
