KARAK: The Private Educational Institutions Management Association on Friday asked the government to provide special grant and interest-free loans to private educational institutions in the wake of the prevailing situation created by the outbreak of Covid-19.

The association claimed that many educational institutions were unable to pay monthly salaries to their staff. The demand was made by the district president of the association Jalil Khattak while talking to reporters here. He claimed that the private educational institutions were facing loss as these have been closed until May 31. “We are unable to collect the monthly and admission fees from the students,” he said. Jalil Khattak said the association had devised a plan to ask the government to help them out financially by providing special grants and interest-free loans so that they could pay salaries to the staff. He regretted that the government extended vacations of the educational institutions without taking them into confidence.
