Brigadier’s son confesses to killing parents, sisters
RAWALPINDI: Police on Monday solved the mystery surrounding the murder of a retired army officer who was found shot dead along with his wife and two young daughters in Rawalpindi garrison city last week, a private news channel reported on Monday. Police claimed that the son of the army officer had confessed to killing his father, mother and two sisters over marriage dispute. Bodies of Brig. (Retd) Dr Sikandar Malik, his wife Shahida, two daughters Fatima and Zenab were found in their house located in Rawalpindi’s Gulistan Colony within the jurisdiction of Morgah Police Station.
Police had arrested Dr Sikandar Malik’s son Capt Dr Haider Abbas who was present at the house. After week-long investigation, officials claimed that Abbas had confessed to the killing his family members.
The accused revealed that he wanted to contract love marriage but his parents were not allowing him to marry the girl he was in love with, at which he decided to end lives of his parents and two sisters.Capt Abbas had drugged them through fruit juice before gruesome act. After they fainted, he shot them dead, investigators said.
