Karachi: Yet another grenade attack took place at the Pakistan Air Force Base Faisal in which three persons were injured.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) East Range, Tahir Naveed, talking to The News said that a grenade was lobbed at the main entrance of the PAF Base Faisal situated near the Karsaz bridge late on Sunday night.
On receipt of information, a police mobile immediately rushed to the scene of the crime and cordoned off the area. Moreover, the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) of the Sindh Policealso reached the scene of the crime for investigations. Investigations reveals that unidentified suspects either riding a motorcycle or on foot had lobbed a grenade from the Karsaz Bridge at the main entrance of the PAF Faisal and fled.
Due to the explosion, three persons were injured who were shifted to a private hospital for treatment. DIG East Naveed said that they had talked to PAF officials who had denied any injuries to their personnel in the attack.
He added that Close Circuit Cameras (CCTVs) were installed in and around the PAF Base Faisal and the authorities were trying to locate the exact location and number of suspects involved in the attack. A case was registered at the Sharea Faisal police remits.
Investigators said that earlier on February-5, 2013, terrorists had lobbed a hand grenade at the same place in which a passerby was injured. The injured was a bicycle rider Izhar Khan who was injured in the explosion.
Investigators said that the terrorists had used a hand-made bomb. They added that the law enforcement agencies were on the target of a banned militant organisations but it is too early to confirm the involvement of any group behind the PAF attacks. Further investigations are under way.
In yet another case, another explosion took place in the Sharafi Goth area when armed men lobbed a cracker at a shop. This incident also happened late on Sunday night at the Al-Sadaat Tea Store, near Dawood Chowrangi, in the Sharafi

Goth police remits.
Police said that on receipt of information the police rushed the spot where they had found the store was slightly damaged. During investigation it was found that unidentified armed men on a motorcycle stopped infront of the store, lobbed a cracker and fled.
They added that no injury or casualty took place in the attack . Meanwhile, the BDS was also summoned which collected the blast material and termed the attack a cracker explosion. Investigators said that it is early to confirm the motive behind the attack as apparently it seems that the owner might have been receiving extortion threats and criminals had lobbed a cracker as a threat. However, the exact motive will be clear after further investigations. A case was reported and investigations are under way.
