ISLAMABAD: The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) has accepted the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s offer to join the government at the Centre.
The offer was extended by Shahbaz Sharif during a meeting with the JUI-F delegation led by party chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman here on Thursday. The two parties also agreed to form the government in Balochistan with the support of the other parties.
The sources said that during the meeting the JUI-F chief also took up the issue of forming the government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but the PML-N leader told Fazl that the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) should be given the chance to form a government in the province.
Talking to media persons after the meeting, Shahbaz said the PML-N has secured a simple majority in the National Assembly but it was decided that the two parties would run affairs jointly to address the crises being faced by the country.
“The people have given a historical mandate to the PML-N. However, we also want to include other parties in the formation of the government at the Centre,” he said, adding the PML-N has secured a majority in the Punjab and would also form the government in Balochistan with the support of other parties.
Shahbaz told media persons that it was the vision of Nawaz Sharif that other parties should also be taken along to steer the country out of its crises.
He regretted that the PTI chief had been terming the polls transparent in constituencies where his party had succeeded but blamed rigging where his candidates had to face defeat. “Caretaker chief minister Najam Sethi changed the whole government machinery before May 11 but still the PML-N is facing charges government machinery before May 11 but still the PML-N is facing charges of rigging,” he said.
He pointed out that the European Union had also declared 90 percent polls in Pakistan as fair and transparent. “There has been no rigging in Punjab province at all,” he said.“We feel that the PTI has got the

mandate in KP to form government in the province,” he maintained.
He said that Maulana Fazlur Rehman had given positive response to the PML-N invitation and he (Fazl) would take up the matter at his party’s Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting.
To a question about statement of Altaf Hussain, the PML-N leader said the statement sent the whole nation in comma. “We wish that Altaf should not have given such a statement,” Shahbaz Sharif said.
However, using soft tone for Altaf Hussain, the PML-N leader said now when the MQM leader had clarified his statement, it should be accepted. While speaking on the occasion, Maulana Fazlur Rehman thanked the PML-N for approaching his party to form the government in the Centre saying that he would also raise the matter at the CWC meeting on Saturday.
To a question, the JUI-F chief once again refused to accept the PTI mandate in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). “The PTI mandate is bogus and we do not accept it,” he said.
Maulana was of the view that restoration of peace in KP and Balochistan should be top priorities of the federal government. “The country can make progress only when there is peace everywhere,” he said.
