QUETTA: Unknown men blew up a portion of railway tracks in Sariab area of the provincial capital on Monday, disconnecting the rail link of Quetta with other parts of the country.
Police said that some unidentified men attached an Improvised Explosive Device with the railway tracks in Musa Colony of Sariab Area and detonated it. “As a result of the explosion, a portion of the railway tracks was damaged,” police said, adding that the blast suspended rail traffic from and towards Quetta.
No loss of life was reported. The Pakistan Railways officials said that their technical teams had started repairing work of the affected tracks. The law-enforcement personnel have put a cordon around the area and launched search operation to trace the suspects.
