Peshawar

May 6, 2013

MIRANSHAH: The main entrance to the house and adjacent hujra of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for NA-40 North Waziristan Agency were damaged in a blast caused by an improvised explosive device (IED) in Mir Ali on Sunday.
Family members of the PTI candidate Engineer Abdul Qayyum Khan told The News that unknown people had planed an IED near the main entrance to his house and hujra or male guesthouse at Haiderkhel village in Mir Ali subdivision. The IED went off in the evening and damaged the main gate of the house of the PTI candidate and his neighbour. The blast, however, did not cause any human loss to the PTI candidate or his neighbours.
Family members of the PTI candidate said Engineer Abdul Qayyum was not present at home during the explosion. They said he had left home three days ago and was busy in his election campaign in Miranshah and its adjoining village. Engineer Abdul Qayyum is contesting election for the lone National Assembly seat in North Waziristan, NA-40.
