Abbottabad Commission report submitted to PM

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Abbottabad Commission Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal on Thursday called on Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and submitted the report of the commission. He briefed the PM on the salient features of the report.
The prime minister appreciated the efforts and hard work of the chairman and his team in the compilation of report. Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar also called on the PM and apprised him of her recent visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
She informed the PM that during her visit she called on Prince Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Deputy Premier, as well as held a meeting with Prince Saud Al Faisal, the Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia.
A delegation of Lady Health Workers (LHWs) also called on the prime minister. Speaking on the occasion, the PM said that the Lady Health Workers were rendering a noble service and they had great respect for them.
He said that problems being faced by the Lady Health Workers had arisen due to devolution of subjects to the provinces. He announced that all the Lady Health Workers would be given a permanent status and their services would be regularised.
Ashraf directed Minister for Religious Affairs Syed Khursheed Shah to convene a meeting with representatives of all the provinces to resolve the outstanding issues pertaining to Lady Health Workers.
He said the federal government had decided that it would meet the entire financial cost of salaries of 104,000 Lady Health Workers till 2015. The meeting was attended by Syed Khursheed Ahmad Shah, Minister for Religious Affairs, and other concerned officials.
