Imran vows march on capital if SC harmed

July 15, 2012

PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Saturday warned of a “tsunami march” on Islamabad if the decisions of the Supreme Court were not implemented and its sanctity undermined.
“If President Zardari tried to destroy the Supreme Court, the PTI would march on Islamabad,” he declared.
He said the relatives of those being killed in the US drone
attacks would soon be presented before the media so that it could be established as to who are being targeted in the tribal areas.
“We will take the “Amn tsunami qafila” to Waziristan in September in order to make it clear whether those being killed are Pakistanis or somebody else,” he told a rally held in Peshawar to protest drone attacks, the resumption of Nato supply routes and loadshedding.
Senior PTI leaders Javed Hashmi, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Saifullah Khan Niazi and provincial leaders Asad Qaiser, Shaukat Ali Yousafzai, Iftikhar Jhagra, Shah Farman, Pervez Khattak, Masood Sharif Khattak, Azam Khan Swati and others were present on the occasion. The well-attended rally was taken out from Hashtnagri Chowk on the busy Grand Trunk Road to the Shabistan Cinema Chowk.
The PTI chief asked President Asif Ali Zardari and Awami National Party (ANP) chief Asfandyar Wali Khan to tell the nation about those being killed in the drone attacks. “What are their names? Are they human beings? Are they Pakistanis,” the PTI chief asked. He added that innocent Pakistanis were being killed in the drone strikes.
“The onus is on the government to provide security to the people, but it has miserably failed to shoulder its responsibility,” Imran Khan said, adding, “Asfandyar Wali had promised that he would not allow the bloodshed of the Pakhtuns. But now Asif Ali Zardari and Asfandyar Wali have sold the blood of the Pakistanis for the sake of dollars.”
The PTI chief said Asfandyar Wali was equally responsible for the loot and plunder by siding with President Zardari

and promoting the “easyload” culture. He said that ostensibly the president condemned the drone attacks, but it was not condemnation rather it was “hypocrisy”.
Imran Khan also made a mention of Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf by remarking: “Raja Rental! Stop loadshedding.”
Speaking on the occasion, Javed Hashmi and Shah Mehmood Qureshi said the PTI would defend the frontiers of the country and would not allow anybody to violate the sovereignty of Pakistan if it came into power. They said that the rulers had let the masses down by exposing them to record price hike, unemployment, power outages and lawlessness.
INP adds: Imran Khan said the PTI would take representatives of human rights organisations and the media to Waziristan.
He said the party is holding protests to force the government to come out of the US war. “This is not our war, this is not Pakistan’s war,” he said as the participants started chanting the slogan of “Amreeka ka jo yaar hai, ghaddar hai, ghaddar hai (Those who are friends with the US are traitors)”.
The PTI chief called on President Asif Ali Zardari to “bring back his Rs1 billion from Switzerland”.
“If you try to destroy the Supreme Court to save your looted money, then the tsunami march will reach there as well,” Imran Khan warned.
