IG among five FC officers hurt in copter crash landing

GHALLANAI: Five officers of the paramilitary Frontier Corps (FC) including the Inspector General of the force Major General Nadir Zeb Khan sustained injuries after their helicopter crashed on Tuesday afternoon while landing at the Civil Colony, official sources said.
According to reports, Inspector General Frontier Corps (IGFC) Major Gen Nadir Zeb, Brigadier Aftab Ahmed and Colonel Azeem first held a meeting with a political agent of the Mohmand Agency on the security situation in the tribal region. These officials, the sources added, flew to Bajaur Agency after the meeting. They were returning from Bajaur when their helicopter crashed while landing at the Civil Colony in Ghallanai, headquarters of Mohmand Agency at approximately 4pm.
Major General Nadir Zeb, Brigadier Aftab Ahmed, Brigadier Saeed Khan, Colonel Fazl-e Rabbi and Major Abbas all sustained injuries in the crash, the sources said. Security forces cordoned off the area and shifted the injured to Combined Military Hospital in Peshawar.Major Fazal of the Frontier Corps said the incident was the result of a technical fault.
