Fazl says state must take note of Mirza’s charges

Fazl says state must take note of Mirza’s charges
ISLAMABAD: Expressing grave concern over the worsening situation in Karachi in the wake of latest happenings, JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that expediency and hypocrisy have become the order of the day and if the mindset is not changed, great harm can come to the nation.
The Maulana said that a few days ago when Dr Zulfikar Mirza had uttered some irresponsible words, peace of Karachi had gone to the winds and the city roads were strewn with dead bodies. But it is quite surprising that now, with the Holy Quran in his hand, when he has leveled extremely serious allegations, the situation has remained normal. These are the questions that pester the minds of every citizen.
In a telephonic interview from D I Khan, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that Dr Mirza did not pay due respect to the Holy Book as it is never desirable to introduce this book in mundane affairs.
In any case the allegations by Mirza cannot be ignored and MQM and PPP should clarify their position in the light of these accusations. The state should take the entire affair very seriously as it has dire implications for the integrity of the country, the Maulana said.
