ISLAMABAD: The marketing companies on Thursday increased the prices of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) by Rs14 per kg.
The prices of domestic cylinder were hiked by Rs165 while those of commercial cylinder by Rs635.Similarly, prices of LPG in Quetta, AJK, Fata, Swat, Muzaffarabad and Bagh were raised to Rs160 per kg.
In Murree and Kohat, the prices of the LPG would be Rs145 per kg while in Lahore, Peshawar and Sialkot Rs130 per kg. The LPG prices would be Rs135 per kg in Multan and Rs110 per kg in Karachi.
Chairman of LPG Distributors Association Muhammad Irfan Kokhar termed the increase as unjustified and said the rising trend in LPG prices was badly affecting the already hard pressed people.
The Oil and Gas Regularity Authority (Ogra) needs to take action against such market forces that were announcing unjustified increases, he said. Inaction on the part of concerned authorities had created a sense of impunity among anti-market forces, giving them an opportunity to make a fast buck by raising the prices brazenly, he added.
