CM seeks report on gang-rape, suicide of girl

BUREWALA: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has taken notice of the gang-rape of an 18-year-old student who committed suicide after the incident at Chak 146/EB, seeking a detailed report from the district administration on Friday.
Meanwhile, Vehari DPO Sadiq Ali Dogar, Burewala DSP Zulfiqar Ali and Assistant Commissioner Saifullah Sajid visited the village and expressed their sympathies with the aggrieved family. Akasha, daughter of Muhammad Akram Jatt of Chak 146/EB, was away from her house when Muhammad Rashid with his two accomplices kidnapped and allegedly raped her in fields. Later, she returned to her house and informed her parents about the incident. Later in dejection, she mixed poison in milk and consumed it.
Kalsoom Bibi, mother of Akasha, with her relatives Muhammad Altaf and Muhammad Aslam told reporters that her daughter was unsatisfied with the police action. She alleged that police had released two accused after taking bribe from them. “My daughter got disappointed over it and took poisonous milk to end her life,” she said, adding that the culprits had raped and tortured her because there were signs of torture on her body, but the police did not take notice of it. She demanded the chief minister order a case against the accused on the murder charge.
STUDENT ELECTROCUTED, 8 INJURED: A student was electrocuted and 8 others injured as their bus touched electric wires near AC Morr on Luddan Road here on Friday.
An overloaded bus was going to Adda Kachi Pakki from Burewala and some students were sitting on the roof of the bus. When bus stopped at a petrol pump to get diesel, a bicycle put on the roof of the bus touched electric wires. As a result, Ali Raza of Adda Kachi Pakki, a class 9 student, was electrocuted while eight other students, including Yasir Ali, Muhammad Arif, Muhammad Hadaf, Muhammad Shaban, Muhammad Adnan and Muhammad Arslan, were injured and taken

to Burewala THQ Hospital. The Model Town police arrested Muhammad Ajmal, bus driver, and petrol pump owner Muhammad Hussain after registering a case against them.
