Three members of tourist family killed in accident

MANSEHRA: Three members of a tourist family two of them brothers were killed and four other s injured when a motorcar plunged into a deep ravine in Shogran area of the Kaghan valley of the Mansehra district.
The incident happened when the brakes of the vehicle failed as it was descending from the highly steep Kawai-Shogran Road. “Yes, three people of a family were killed and another four two of them member of victim family and two locals were injured attempting to stop the vehicle,” said Mohammad Arshad, the station house office of Balakot.
Those who killed in the accident were identified as Ashiq Hussain his brother Zakir Hussain and their relative Mohammad Ishaq.Waqar Azeem stated to be son of victim Ashiq Hussain and their family member Aajjad Aslam and two local people were injured in the accident.
The victim family had arrived in the Kaghan valley from Kasur town of Punjab to celebrate Eid and was going back to their native district when incident happened.The local people and police rushed to the scene and after retrieving bodies and injured shifted them to civil hospital in Balakot.
The Balakot police after registering first information report started investigation to ascertain exact cause of the accident.Our correspondent in Hangu adds: Two picnickers were killed and 15 others sustained injuries when two vans collided Barh Abbaskhel area on Wednesday.
The picnickers from Khazina Banda area of Hangu district were going to enjoy Eidul Fitr in the tourist resorts in Swat, Nathiagali and Murree when the van, they travelling in, collided with a Suzuki pick-up in Barh Abbaskhel area. As result, two persons were killed and 15 others sustained injuries. The names of the dead and injured persons could not be ascertained. Some of the injured were stated to be in precarious condition.

It was learnt that one Nadeem was boating along with his family members when the canoe suddenly overturned as it was overloaded. All his family members fell into the river, but most of them were rescued. Unfortunately, a three-month-old baby girl drowned.
