Girl shot at for ‘honour’ dies

LAHORE
A 20-year-old girl, who was shot injured by her uncle a month ago for allegedly having illicit relations with her neighbour, succumbed to her injuries in a local hospital on Tuesday.
The victim identified as Robina is a resident of Shadbagh. According to police, she had established illicit relations with her neighbor Jaffar over which her uncle Akram warned her several times but not to avail. On the day of incident, victim’s uncle Akram got infuriated and opened fire on her. As a result, she received serious bullet injuries. Her family members rushed her to a nearby hospital where she succumbed to her injuries on Tuesday. The police registered a murder case against Akram, with no arrest so far. Further investigation is underway.
7 arrested: Iqbal Town police arrested seven persons, including three women, allegedly for merrymaking on Tuesday. The police raided at a house located in Jahanzaib Block and arrested the accused. The police also registered a case against the arrested persons.
