Four more lose life to dengue

The dengue fever claimed four more lives on Friday, which brought the death count to 317 in the provincial metropolis.
According to details obtained through independent sources from different hospitals of Lahore, two patients - Fazilat, 55, a resident of Begum Kot and Ramzan, 80, a resident of Sheikhupura - died due to dengue fever in Mayo Hospital. Similarly, two patients - Nisar, 72, a resident of Sultan Pura and Uzma, 15, a resident of Nankana Sahib, lost to the dengue in Services Hospital on Friday.
Besides, as many as 220 patients were tested dengue fever positive on Friday, taking the tally of patients to 31,036 in Lahore alone. As many as 37 patients were tested positive in Mayo Hospital, 12 in Children’s Hospital, 13 in Jinnah Hospital, 32 in Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, 31 in Services Hospital, five in Lahore General Hospital, 13 in Shaikh Zayed Hospital, 14 in Institute of Public Health and another 73 in different public and private hospitals, laboratories and clinics in the provincial metropolis.
Meanwhile, the Health Department also confirmed four deaths, including two from Lahore, due to Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) during the last 24 hours, which brought total figure of deaths to 290 in Punjab and 253 in Lahore.
According to the department’s report released on Friday, the total number of dengue patients reported in Punjab from January 2011 to-date has reached 19,614, out of which over 16,584 were diagnosed in Lahore alone. As many as 108 new dengue fever cases were found in Punjab, out of which, at least, 92 fresh cases were reported in Lahore during the last 24 hours.
At present, 927 dengue patients are under treatment at different hospital of Punjab, out of which 741 are admitted to different hospitals of Lahore. Besides, as many as 9,319 dengue patients have been cured and discharged from the hospitals in Punjab, including 16,489 from different hospitals of Lahore, so far. Furthermore, a total of 242 dengue patients were cured

and discharged from various hospitals of Lahore during the last 24 hours. Out of them, as many as 69 patients were discharged from Mayo Hospital, 34 from Lahore General Hospital, eight from Government Said Mitha Hosptial, 27 from Services Hospital, 34 from Jinnah Hospital, 16 from Kot Khawaja Saeed Hospital, 14 from Mian Munshi Hospital, 35 from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, two patients from Government Nawaz Sharif Hospital, Yakki Gate whereas three patients were discharged from the Children’s Hospital.
