Resolution against gathering of homosexuals

LAHORE
PML-N parliamentarian Dr Zumard Yasmeen Rana on Wednesday submitted a resolution to the Punjab Assembly’s Secretariat against gathering of homosexuals in a foriegn embassy. The resolution demanded the federal government take stern action against anti-Islam and ultra vires of the Constitution activities in Pakistan. It further demanded the federal government to keep aware of such activities and that no such activity should be allowed which could cause concern within the society.

PTI flays worker’s murder

Members of Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf (PTI) Lahore have condemned the kidnapping and murder of a party activist in Karachi. In a joint statement hereon Wednesday, General Secretary PTI Lahore Murad Raas, Asif Bashir, Rana Akhtar and Ishtiaq Malik expressed profound grief over the killing of General Secretary Union Council 5. They said parties including PPP, MQM and ANP were responsible for the violence in Karachi.

Isolated showers to continue

THE prevailing sequence of isolated scattered showers followed by hot and humid weather will continue on Thursday (today). The City received 17mm rain on Wednesday before noon after which the weather got muggy. The temperature stuck a touch below 40C while the minimum too registered a higher trend with 30C. Weather remained hot and humid in most parts of the country.
Iftar in traffic jams

Realizing problems of the faithful keeping fast, the Punjab government has decided to arrange “Iftar” for the citizens stuck up in the traffic jam at the time of “Iftari”. PA Speaker returns from England

Punjab Assembly Speaker Rana Iqbal returned from England after attending 57th session of the Commonwealth of Nations on Wednesday. Rana Iqbal has been elected as member of the executive committee of the Commonwealth for three years. During his visit, the Speaker met Pakistani politicians and economists in England. Secretary Punjab Assembly Maqsood Ahmad Malik and other officials of the Punjab Assembly had welcomed him at the Lahore International Airport.
PU result declared in five hours

A TEAM of Punjab University’s College of Information Technology (PUCIT) has declared the result of BS Software Engineering (SE) entrance test just in five hours after the conduct of the test and uploaded it on the college’s website on the same day (midnight). The PUCIT conducted the BS Software Engineering entrance test on July 31. Forty teams, comprising two persons each in IT enabled environment, marked 10,000 entrance test quizzes.

UNIVERSITY of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) on Wednesday organised a certificate distribution ceremony on the conclusion of a four-month optional course on cosmetics. UVAS Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Nawaz, speaking on the occasion, urged the students to hone their expertise in the field of cosmetics which was expanding every passing day, and Pakistan alone was importing cosmetic products worth billion of rupees.

MPs asked to visit utility stores

A PML-Q senior leader Pervaiz Elahi directed MPs to visit utility stores at deprived area instead of posh areas. In a press release on Wednesday, the senior minister asked public to contact complaint office at State Guest House if they faced any problem and shortage of any commodity at the utility stores. MPAs Seemal Kamran, Khadeeja Umar, Shahana Farooqi and Tehreem Saifi visited utility store at Chungi Amar Sidhu.
