Taliban ‘ban’ killings in Miramshah during Ramazan
MIRAMSHAH: Leaflets distributed here on Saturday on behalf of Hafiz Gul Bahadur, the Taliban commander for North Waziristan, warned that anyone committing murder in the Miramshah bazaar during the month of Ramazan would be fined Rs500,000.
The leaflets in Urdu carried the signature of Hafiz Gul Bahadur. His message was printed on his letter-head, introducing him as both head and servant of the Mujahideen of North Waziristan.
The leaflet said the decision to impose the hefty fine on murderers was taken in a meeting of the Mujahideen Shura on July 29.
It said anyone committing murder in Miramshah bazaar in the area from Maachis Camp’s Spin Jamaat (Spin mosque) to the Tableeghi Markaz and from Gora Qabristan to Deerdoni Pathak Number 1.
According to the leaflet, clerics Maulvi Siddiq Noor and Maulvi Rahim Noor would be responsible for enforcing the decision on behalf of the Mujahideen Shura for two months.
The Shura made it clear that no violation of this decision would be allowed and no murderer would be spared.
