LAHORE: Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khosa has said that it’s time to follow the politics of reconciliation to develop the country according to the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
Addressing a seminar at the Alhamra on Sunday, the governor said Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was inspired by the thoughts of Hameed Nizami and was an admirer of his efforts to strengthen democracy. He said the mission of ZA Bhutto and Hameed Nizami for establishing democratic values should be carried on. Arif Nizami, son of the late Hameed Nizami, said his father wanted journalists to be hardworking and honest to their profession whereas he always took journalism as a mission. He also appreciated the current government for its tolerance of press.
Senior journalists Ataul Haq Qasmi, Mujeebur Rehman Shami and Hamid Mir also praised the efforts of Hameed Nizami in journalism. Others who spoke on the occasion included Jamat-e-Islami Secretary General Liaquat Baloch, Sahibzada Ameenul Hasnat Shah and Ex-MNA Miss Onaza Ihsan.
