Lahore

February 2, 2011

Karachi
The chief minister has expressed his dissatisfaction with the performance of the Sindh Board of Revenue, and stressed the need to improve the working of the department through concerted efforts to achieve better results.
Syed Qaim Ali Shah was chairing a high-level meeting held at the Chief Minister’s House on Monday to review the performance of the Sindh Board of Revenue.
Highlighting the role of the Sindh Board of Revenue, he said that it was a very important department as it generated a major portion of the province’s income since land was a provincial subject.
Shah said that officials of the board must share their responsibility in the discharge of duty, “as we have to build the confidence of people”.
He hoped that the old status of the Board of Revenue would be revived which was in the larger interest of Sindh, saying that the interests of the province must be safeguarded.
The chief minister called upon all officers to follow cases in courts and inform the office of the advocate-general about details with the necessary documentary proof.
He directed that if and when any official was found indulging in any criminal act, prompt action be taken against him.
Chief Secretary Ghulam Ali Shah Pasha, members and officers of the Sindh Board of Revenue presented reports and assured the chief minister that the working of the board would be streamlined and improved as per his expectations.
