IGP urges officers to control street crime

MURIDKE: IGP Punjab Tariq Saleem Dogar has asked police officers to take steps to control street crime.
He was addressing officials at Sheikhupura Police Lines on Tuesday. He urged the police to restore their confidence in the masses to root out terrorism from the society. He stressed the need for bridging the gap between the masses and law-enforcement agencies. “My conscience is satisfied as I tried my best to provide justice to the masses at their doorsteps during his tenure,” he said.
He urged police officers to listen to public complaints and redress their grievances by holding open courts at district and tehsil levels. Sheikhupura DIG Rai Altaf Hussain, DPO Umar Akhtar Laleka, Kasur DPO Gohar Nafees, Nankana Sahib DPO Shahzad Waheed, SSP Investigations Zaheer Iqbal Sheikh, SSP Traffic Mansoor Naji and Additional SP Chaudhry Zulfiqar Ahmed were also present.
