LAHORE: Chairman of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Sports Iqbal Muhammad Ali said on Wednesday that he will endeavour to end the present ongoing war of words involving the PHF and former Olympians.
“We have summoned a meeting on November 29 in Islamabad which will be attended by the PHF high-ups and former Olympians and we will be making efforts to end their differences in the larger interest of the game,” he told reports here on Wednesday at the National hockey stadium after inaugurating the PHF Junior Super Hockey League.
Iqbal Mohammad Ali was of the view that former players should come forward and play their due role in lifting the game out of its present gloom.
He praised the efforts of the PHF for organising the Super League and termed it a step forward to revive the game.
“PHF has taken a good measure at grass roots level for the development of the game,” he said. “Another reason which has contributed to the overall decline in the past was the paucity of funds.”
