Pak firms to participate in plastic fair in Germany

ISLAMABAD: More than 3,000 companies from all over the world including Pakistan are participating in the week-long international Plastic and Rubber Fair 2010 known as K-2010 in Dusseldorf, Germany.
The fair starting tomorrow brings together international petrochemical companies at Dusseldorf.
These companies will exhibit and introduce technologies and products including raw materials, auxiliaries, semi-finished products, technical parts and reinforced plastics as well as machinery and equipment for the plastics and rubber industries to their global customers.
In his message from Berlin received here Ambassador of Pakistan to Germany Shahid Kamal hoped that visit of Pakistani businessmen and entrepreneurs in the fair would provide an excellent opportunity to gain sufficient knowledge about the new equipments and its effective use in Pakistan.
“The K-2010 would provide a chance to Pakistani companies to view, analyse and deal with the international companies working in global plastic and rubber industry,” he said.
Shahid Kamal said that the K-2010 is taking place at a time when there has been a significant increase in bilateral trade particularly Pakistan’s exports to Germany during recent years.
Germany is Pakistan’s fourth largest trading partner and the largest trading partner of Pakistan among the EU countries.
Pakistani exports during January-August 2010 have shown an increase of over 14 percent when compared to corresponding period of the last year.
Pakistan participates in around 19 trade fairs that are held all over Germany.
Every three years, the K-2010 fair brings together international petrochemical companies at Dusseldorf.
