CIIT launches ‘Adopt a family’ programme for flood-victims

CIIT launches ‘Adopt a family’ programme for flood-victims
Islamabad
The Comsats Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) had launched `Adopt a Family’ program to support 20,000 flood-affected families through cash grants for sustenance allowance.
Counselling will also be arranged by an informal social organisation being instituted by the CIIT mainly through volunteers in helping these families start their normal lives afresh.
An official in CIIT while talking to APP said the donations for this purpose would initially come from the CIIT community itself and then from other sources such as friends, relatives, and acquaintances of the CIIT community. A fair and transparent system for the identification of recipient families and the disbursement of funds has been put in place, he mentioned. He said ‘Adopt a family’ programme would help to mitigate the sufferings of the flood victims. Official further mentioned that students, faculty and management of CIIT is working for immediate relief operations extended through its network of campuses spread in several cities across Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
