France, Canada send relief goods
ISLAMABAD: There was good news for the flood-affected people when France and Canada flew in relief material which will make life easier for those who have lost everything that they ever possessed.
The French Ministry for Foreign and European Affairs has sent a plane loaded with 100 tonnes of relief goods which consists of 100 tonnes of much needed items such as: medicines and medical equipment, plastic sheets, clothes and food items, including goods gathered by the Pakistani Embassy in Paris and offered by the Pakistani community in France.
A Canadian government plane brought in the second relief consignment that included emergency supplies. A second relief flight will arrive this evening. The two 747 aircraft are bringing 14,000 tarps, 5,000 shelter tool kits, 3,600 kitchen sets and 2,128 hygiene kits. The supplies will be transported to Mardan to support ongoing emergency relief operations.
