Shutterdown observed in Mirpurkhas

MIRPURKHAS: A complete strike was observed here on Sunday in protest against the display of a banner by a religious Anjuman hurting the feelings of the people.

The administration made strict security arrangements in the city to avert any untoward incident. However, dozens of youth forced the shopkeepers to close down shops. However, no untoward incident was reported from any part of the city. A large number of enraged people surrounded the town police station and staged a sit-in demanding registration of a case.

Later, religious leaders, Maulana Hafeez-ur-Rahman Faiz, Iltimas Sabir and Maulana Muhammad Ali Siddiq, intervened and a case, under Section 295-A and 298 PPC was lodged with the Town police station.

Maulana Muhammad Ali Siddiq was the complainant. The nominated accused are Syed Arsalan, son of Syed Mohsin Ali, Ishtiaq Ahmad Ansari and Muhammad Sabir Chundrigar.
