Era of atrocities ends with Bugti’s death: Jalal Kalpar

ISLAMABAD: The chief of Kalpar Bugti tribe, Jalal Kalpar, has said that an era of atrocities and cruelty has ended in Balochistan with the death of Nawab Akbar Bugti and people have heaved a sigh of relief.
Talking to the media on Monday, he said Akbar Bugti had committed atrocities on his own people; he kidnapped many people and their parents are still looking for their beloved sons, brothers, husbands and fathers.
Kalpar said Akbar Bugti was against acquiring of education by the people of the area and people could live with their own choice. Kalpar added that the chieftain had made thousands of people homeless and put many in his private jails.
Kalpar asserted that Akbar Bugti was a terrorist as he destroyed government installations and asked the politicians not to politicise the issue, as they were ignorant of the atrocities Akbar Bugti had committed. He invited those who were condemning Bugti’s killing to see the situation on the ground and sufferings of the people.
Kalpar maintained that Akbar Bugti was not loyal even to his own tribe. He had a huge stockpile of arms and ammunition and used to blackmail governments. He had established a state within the state and due to his atrocities thousands of Balochis had been forced to leave their homes.
Speaking to the media, Senator Mir Muhabbat Khan Marri said Akbar Bugti was a senior politician but he chose a path which usually leads to such a fate. Muhabbat Khan Marri said the people of Balochistan are fed up with the politics of violence and they want peace and prosperity in province. He said the law and order situation in entire province was under control and the isolated incidents of violence would come to an end.
A prominent figure of the Marri tribe, Sumaira Marri said in a television interview that Akbar Bugti himself was responsible for the fate he met, but regretted the incident also caused the loss of several lives.
Akbar Bugti and his men targeted public installation, which was no service to the people of Balochistan, Sumaira Marri said and added that majority of tribes were patriot and peace loving people. She said that those involved in miscreant acts are being patronised by their foreign masters and they have no interest in the progress and prosperity of province and its people.
