NOWSHERA: The police arrested nine alleged burglars, including a youth councillor, and recovered the stolen money and valuable from their possession, official said on Sunday.
Speaking at a press conference here, District Police Officer Wahid Mehmood said that six days back armed men snatched Rs129,000 from postmaster at the Nowshera Kalan Post Office in broad daylight.
He added that the armed men also entered the house of a teacher of the Government High School No-I and snatched jewellerry and cash from his wife.
The police traced the accused of home-invasion robbery identified as Farooq who disclosed during the interrogation that youth councillor of the village council Shalakhel, Usman was accomplice in the crime.
The police also arrested three more accused Nauman, Fahadzeb and Yasir and recovered the stolen money and valuables from their possession.
