Inter-Board Zone II Cricket begins today
KARACHI: Three matches will be played on the opening day of the Pakistan Inter-Board Cricket Championship (Zone II), being organised by the Sindh Board of Technical Education (SBTE), on Monday (today) here at various grounds in Karachi.

The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Dera Ghazi Khan will meet BISE Larkana at the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Academy Ground while BISE Bahawalpur will meet BISE Hyderabad at the TMC Ground. In the third match of the day, BISE Multan will play against BISE Mirpurkhas at the KCCA Stadium.

All the matches will start at 10am. Each batting side shall be allowed to bat for a maximum of 40 overs with restriction of eight overs for each bowler. Prof M Saeed Siddiqui, Chairman SBTE, will formally inaugurate the zonal rounds at the PCB Academy Ground.

All the participating boards of the Pakistan Inter-Board Cricket Championship have been divided into two Zones. Zone I matches are being held at Sargodha in which BISE Peshawar, BISE Lahore, BISE Sargodha, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Mardan, Dera Ismail Khan, Malakand, Abbottabad, Swat, Mirpur, Azad Kashmir, Federal Board and Punjab Technical Boards are taking part. The Zone II matches are being organised in Karachi in which 11 Boards are taking part. The winner of Zone I will meet the runner-up of Zone II and winner of Zone II will meet the runner-up of Zone I in the two semifinals to be played in Karachi on February 7 while the final will also be played in Karachi on February 8.

The Karachi Board of Intermediate Education is the reigning champion while Karachi Secondary Board is the runner-up.
