8th Intl Urdu Conference kicks off today at Arts Council

The 8th International Urdu Conference is starting on Tuesday (today) at the Karachi Arts Council for which delegates from abroad have started arriving in the city.
The four-day moot will be kicked off with the welcome address of the Arts Council secretary, Ahmed Shah, at 3pm in its first session titled ‘Urdu: its enforcement and the prospects’.
The second session entitled ‘the Urdu syllabus’ will be presided over by former KU vice chancellor Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui at 6pm, followed by the third sitting on the theme of classical literature at 6pm.
Prominent scholars, writers and poets from around the country and abroad will attend the moot.
