Pakistan celebrated its diamond jubilee recently. During these 75 years, Pakistan has faced various challenges but, at the same time, it has fared well in different fields. These ups and downs are part of the journey, but the key to success is to make constant efforts, to learn from our mistakes and work hard.

With this vision, Punjab Model Bazaars Management Company, a government owned entity working under Industries, Commerce, Investment and Skills Development Department Government of the Punjab (ICI&SDD) organized a three-day Azaadi Gala and a Wall Painting Competition to comemmorate the diamond jubilee celebrations of Pakistan.

The Azaadi Gala welcomed people from different parts of Pakistan who came to showcase their cultures at the event. A big variety of unique artworks, handicrafts, hand loomed stuff, embroidered fabrics, clothes, jewellery and decorative pieces was on display. The great thing was the participants could also sell their products to the visitors. Such activities encourage young entrepreneurs and local sellers to work with passion and grow their businesses.

Azaadi Gala was not the only center of attraction for visitors. Theme-based wall painting competition was also organized for university and college students.

Selected groups of students were asked to paint a 42-square-feet wall area in a given time period. The themes were interfaith harmony, Independence Day and women rights. The top three winners of the competition were awarded with cash prizes.

Guest of Honor, Dr. Ahmad Javed Qazi, Secretary ICI&SDD Government of the Punjab and other honorable members from the department and other walks of life were greeted by the Chief Internal Auditor, Punjab Model Bazaars Management Company ICI&SDD Government of the Punjab, Farhan Dilawar Sheikh.

Dr. Ahmad Javed Qazi said the aim of his department was to highlight the diversity of rich culture that Pakistan owns, and to provide business opportunities for small scale businesses.

The event concluded with a Mushaira in which renowned poets of the city participated and recited their poetry work.
