In recent years, young women have taken the lead in calling for a more equitable society. A careful look into the roots of these movements reveals many exciting and challenging queries concerning socio-political and economic aspects. It is indeed essential to recognize the differences between new and old movements. One may regard the contemporary trend as a new wave by probing the features common to earlier and modern feminisms. There are many unique characteristics of this new wave. For instance, due to the increased use of digital media, feminist activism has gone global, and there are no boundaries to thought-provoking ideas and views. Activism is no longer restricted to the West as it was in the old days.

The issues of a solid commitment to diversity and anti-racism have also become more salient. It is essential to recognize the fundamental concept of the feminist movement as an attempt for equal rights and justice, portraying feminism as a hateful movement against men is inaccurate and dangerous. A bolder approach to feminist activism has also led to greater criticism and threats from conservative forces.
