LAHORE: The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) will conduct market research to increase trade volume between Pakistan and Bulgaria.

The LCCI, in a statement, said it will explore Bulgarian market with the help of Pakistani embassy.

Senior Vice President LCCI Almas Hyder urged the Pakistani diplomat to market Pakistan as a lucrative place for Bulgarian investors who can use it as a base for access to Chinese and Indian markets.

Hyder said Pakistan offers great opportunities to Bulgarian businessmen to invest in energy sector, especially in coal based power projects.

PakistanAmbassador-designate to Bulgaria Babar Hashmi said Bulgaria has only seven million populations, but it can open up doors of neighbouring countries for Pakistani merchandise.

Hashmi stressed the need for exchange of trade delegations and their participation in each other’s exhibitions.

He urged the Pakistani businessmen to join hands with their Bulgarian counterparts and start joint ventures.

He said Pakistani business community will have to adopt an aggressive strategy to enter into Bulgarian market because they are not only quality- conscious but very selective and careful while making deals with other countries.
