Those wondering if Fawad Khan will ever work his magic on Pakistani cinema, having become Bollywood’s wonder boy, will be happy to hear that Fawad is all game to set the local screens on fire with, not one, but two films. The news of Fawad Khan playing Maula Jatt in Bilal Lashari’s remake has already done the social media rounds and now, it seems he’ll be essaying another iconic personality. The 34-year-old actor took to Twitter to reveal his next role as reel-life Alamgir.
“At the film announcement of Albela Rahi. Excited to play the role of the legendary Alamgir,” Fawad posted. The event was held in Karachi over the weekend where Fawad was joined by the makers, Sultan Ghani and Faisal Hashmi, as well as Alamgir himself through video conferencing.
Veteran singer Alamgir has been unwell over the past year suffering from polycystic kidneys and had undergone a kidney removal surgery last summer. He is now waiting for a kidney transplant. However, his energy was awe-inspiring as he started off a little jamming session while on video chat. Fawad, too, put his singing shoes on as he sang ‘Albela Rahi’ live on stage. As of now, there is no information as to who else will be part of the cast and when the film is scheduled for a release.
