* Dropped out of high school in his junior year at the age of 17 to become the drummer of Scream. Toured extensively with the band till they disbanded in 1990.
* Subsequently joined Nirvana in 1990. The group earned global acclaim, before disbanding after the suicide of frontman Kurt Cobain in 1994.
* Formed Foo Fighters in 1994 as a one-man project, eventually assembling a band to record and tour under the name. The outfit has released ten albums and earned numerous accolades, including 12 Grammy Awards.
