- The Last Duel (starring Matt Damon, Adam Driver, Jodie Comer, Ben Affleck) – historical drama, based on Eric Jager’s non-fiction book; in the last legally sanctioned duel in France’s history, a knight (Damon) combats his friend (Driver) who has been accused by the former’s wife (Comer) of rape.
- Extinct (starring Adam DeVine, Rachel Bloom, Zazie Beetz, Ken Jeong) – animated adventure; a pair of sibling flummels (DeVine and Bloom) time-travel from the Galapagos Islands in 1835 to present-day Shanghai and are horrified to discover that their species has become extinct.

- Had a budget of around $110 million; had made nearly $130 million in around a week.
- Has received mixed reviews from critics who praised the humour and Hardy’s acting but found the film incoherent.
