The Maleficent actress has joined Instagram to use her platform to call attention to issues facing Afghan people as the Taliban once again assumed power.
Jolie posted a letter of a teenage Afghan girl expressing her worries and fear over life under current circumstances, writing that "we are imprisoned again."
Angelina Jolie vowed to share the stories of people across the world "who are fighting for their basic human rights."
The mother-of-six expressed her dedication to helping those who are seeking safety following the withdrawal of American troops.
“Like others who are committed, I will not turn away. I will continue to look for ways to help. And I hope you’ll join me,” she wrote.
Angelina is a Special Envoy to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, and is loved for her humanitarian work, lending her voices to many causes over the years.
The 46-year old's post comes after Prince Harry's statement as he had urged veterans to “offer support for one another” in the wake of the Taliban resurgence in Afghanistan. The Duke of Sussex was first deployed there in December 2007 but it was kept secret from the world’s media.
