KARACHI: The Aligarh Institute of Technology (AIT) inter-departmental sports festival was held at the University Sports Complex.
Seven departments participated in the festival: Civil, mechanical, electrical, CIT, electronics, and software.
Competitions of table tennis, badminton, tug of war, chess and futsal were held in the festival. A total of 216 players participated in the festival.
At the opening ceremony, Olympian Samiullah appreciated the efforts of Aligarh Institute and emphasised the importance of sports activities in educational institutes.
The first match of the sports festival took place between the futsal teams of electrical technology and civil technology.
Computer information technology boys team got the first position with 24 points, biomedical technology second with 22 points and civil technology third with 11 points.
The girls of computer information technology won the first position in futsal.
The girls of biomedical technology clinched the first position in chess, badminton, and tug of war.
