Pakistan is one of the most sought-after tourist destinations in the world. In the survey conducted by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) in 2020, Pakistan was ranked 47 among 200 countries that have the potential to become holiday hotspots. The government of Pakistan has done a lot to revive tourism in the country. It is estimated that if the country achieves full peace, the tourism industry of Pakistan will prosper. But the fear of the possible civil war in Afghanistan is swirling around Pakistan. Instability in the region will have a direct impact on Pakistan’s tourism industry.
Previously, when Pakistan was fighting the war on terror, the country was called a dangerous place for tourists. This classification created a lot of problems for the tourism industry. The government should take efficient measures to deal with the consequences of the withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan and save the tourism industry from any mayhem.
